September Interschool Sports and other activities

Sivan and Saskia participated in this years interschools. Sivan came 2nd in the 60m race. Unfortunately Saskia is not as fast as brother Sivan and didn't make it onto the podium.

Here we are out on a Cycle around the Swan River. Saskia managed to keep up OK after a 10km ride!



Father's Day! What a treat...

Sandy Cape - Family Get-Away - Anzac Day (25April)

We took a few days off and drove up to Sandy Cape, north of Jurien. We bought a shower tent, complete with electric pump, as this site has only "long drop dunnies"! When we get the chance, we take a dip in the ocean. Here the boys take advantage of this opportunity!
Here (and below) are a couple of pics of the beach and surroundings. Last time we came here, we were covered by flies and we decided to come back and see what it looks like without these pesky creatures. It was awesome!

We had the best weather one could ask for, which made it worth the while!!

We took a 5km hike along the beach. We had some complaints from the kids, but we made it.

New Year camping in Yallingup (Dunsborough)

We enjoyed 5 days in Yallingup Beach Holiday Park(Camping) with Roelfie, Ilze and Hazel. Thanks to Robin and Monica for making their site available. We had great fun. Pieter and Elita joined us for New Years Eve along with other South Africans. Later in the week Kevin and Susan joined us for the day.

Christmas 2007! Sandman on the Beach...

Jakes, Sonia, Melissa and Jason joined us on Boxing Day at the beach, where Mr. Sandman was created! The temperature was officially 44.2 degrees!!











It is great having Oma here for the first time - her first Christmas Down-Under!

Kevin also joined us for Christmas Lunch.

Family time away - Jurien Bay - Sivan's Merit award

We drove north again to Jurien Bay, but our camping was cut short due to extreme windy conditions. We decided to return and spend some time off at home which was a good break...

Sivan received a Merit Award for making progress in time management and completing all assignments on time.

I occasionally go out with Roelof and his boat. I tend to rather spear fish than wait for the fish to bite...

Vonnie & Siggi's Weekend "away"

Siggi and I managed to get away without the kids. Sivan was invited by his friend Tom (Steve & Sally's son) to go away the weekend. Saskia stayed with Pieter & Elita and then Mat & Liesel. Thanks guys - we had an awesome time! We decided to chase after the wild flowers...We drove over 800km round trip. First east toward Toodyay (overnight in Avon Valley National Park), then north towards New Norcia and Northwest from there. We then spent Saturday night in Sandy Cape (North of Jurien Bay), 50m from the shore! Australia is becoming more 'beautiful' after 2 years.
